Etymology of Brod

What does the name Brod mean?

The name Brod has a history dating as far back as the Anglo-Saxon tribes of Britain. It was a name for a stout person. The surname Brod is derived from the Old English word brode, which means broad. This in turn is derived from the Old English word brad, which has the same meaning.
