Passenger and immigration lists show many early and influential immigrants bearing the name Briddie: Eleanor Bryde who settled in New England in 1766; James Bready arrived in Philadelphia in 1824; Hugh Bready settled in Pennsylvania in 1773; Thomas Bready settled in Philadelphia in 1826.
