Early records of the Jurada surname mention Rui Jurado, Lord of the house of Jurado and of some other lands in the region, and Sancho Rui Jurado, both flourished around the year 1090, during the reign of Alonso VI, to whom they served in the conquest of Toledo.

Migration of the Jurada family

Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Diego Jurado who arrived in New Spain in 1562; Rodriguo Jurado who sailed to Peru in 1579; and Juana Jurado who came to New Granada in 1594. Later settlers included Joseph Jurado who arrived in Norfolk, VA, in 1852.
