The surname Langet was first found in Normandy (French: Normandie), the former Duchy of Normandy, where this distinguished family was anciently seated at Longuetot near Longuetot in the canton of Bolbec. The first record of this ancient aristocratic family of the region was that of Ralph de Langetot I, a Baron. He married Aliz de Langetot and when she became a widow she made a gift to Eynsham Abbey for the salvation of her soul. A descendant was Milo Langetot, and Milo, his son, who were recorded in the period of 1155-1162.
